Kazakhstan dominated the medal standings and team rankings in both age groups and genders at the recent ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships, held over 11 days in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The Kazakh team had an outstanding performance, securing 41 gold medals throughout the event. They also added 6 silver medals and 1 bronze at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in the capital. Remarkably, only two of their boxers left Colombo without a medal, marking a historic achievement for Kazakhstan's boxing legacy.
In the youth category, the girls claimed all 12 available gold medals, while the boys earned 10 golds, along with 1 silver and 1 bronze. Aside from Kazakhstan, only Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan managed to win gold medals in the youth division.
Nine Kazakh girls have triumphed in the U22 female finals, while ten boys from the same age group secured gold medals in Colombo. Additionally, three female boxers and two U22 boys earned silver medals at the thrilling championships in Sri Lanka.
Alina Kudaigenova, a multiple Asian champion, was honored as the Best Female Youth Boxer at the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Colombo. Elina Bazarova, a former Youth World Champion from Kazakhstan, was recognized as the best female U22 boxer of the recent event.
Several Kazakh athletes, including Tolganay Kassymkhan, Alina Kudaigenova, Elina Bazarova, Viktoriya Baidukova, Anar Tursynbek, Aruzhan Zhangabayeva, Uldana Taubay, Bakyt Seidish, Shugyla Nalibay, Bakhtiyar Anarbayev, Aldiyar Bakhadur, and Beksultan Kairatuly, celebrated their latest Asian titles in Colombo.
