Israel has accepted US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal with Iran after accomplishing its objective of eliminating Tehran’s nuclear and missile threats, according to a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office today.
“Israel appreciates President Trump and the US for their support in defense and their role in removing the Iranian nuclear danger,” the statement mentioned.
“Given the success of the operation’s objectives, and in complete coordination with President Trump, Israel has agreed to the president’s mutual ceasefire proposal,” it continued.
Trump announced today that a ceasefire between Israel and Iran is now active and urged both nations not to breach it, just hours after Iran fired missile salvos that Israel’s ambulance service reported killed at least four individuals.

Netanyahu, who will make a statement later today, also stated that Israel would respond strongly to any ceasefire violations.
Over the weekend, Israel, along with the US, launched strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, claiming that Tehran was nearing the acquisition of a nuclear weapon.
Iran refutes having any nuclear weapons program; however, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has stated that if Iran desired to pursue one, global leaders "wouldn't be able to prevent us."
