Widely recognized as the ‘Sleeping Prince’, Prince Alwaleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, a member of the Saudi royal family, has died after being in a coma for almost 20 years due to a tragic accident.
In its official statement, the Global Imams Council expressed condolences, stating, "As we share in the sadness of the Royal Family during this sombre time, we honor the patience and determination shown by his father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, and his family — a reflection of their deep faith in Allah's will and decree."
“We pray that Almighty Allah surrounds the late Prince with His immense mercy, grants him a place in His eternal Paradise, and provides patience and comfort to his family and loved ones," it continued.
At only 18 years old, the bright future of the Sleeping Prince was cut short — yet his family's resolve remained strong.
Rather than retreating from public attention, the family provided glimpses into the prince's health.
Over time, videos and photos emerged depicting him in a hospital bed, occasionally with slight movements that sparked renewed optimism.
One notable instance was when his father reported that the prince moved his fingers in reaction to speech, which made news throughout the Arab world.
Over the years, Prince Khaled bin Talal and his family remained resilient. They dismissed requests to withdraw life support and chose to trust in divine will instead.
