To entice new recruits, the Czech Army revamped Prague's riverfront into a vibrant showcase of its military capabilities. This event, aimed at celebrating historical milestones and boosting recruitment, featured thrilling demonstrations, including soldiers rappelling from helicopters into the Vltava River, as well as displays of advanced military equipment and interactive exhibits for the public.
General Karel Řehka, Chief of the General Staff, highlighted the diverse objectives of the event:
"It’s not solely focused on recruitment. Our aim is to ensure we have a sufficient number of high-quality personnel, which also involves retaining our current soldiers. In terms of recruitment, we strive to be innovative. Events like this allow us to connect with individuals who may already have an interest in aviation or defense-related sports, and we aim to capitalize on every opportunity we get."

The event also provided a platform to discuss the Czech Republic's ongoing military modernization, particularly the planned acquisition of 24 F-35 fighter jets to replace the existing Gripen aircraft. General Řehka outlined the timeline and challenges involved in this transition: "The arrival of the aircraft will begin gradually, but we have set 2035 as the latest target for achieving what we refer to as full operational capability for both squadrons. This extended timeline is necessary because transitioning to new, advanced aircraft requires time to develop infrastructure, conduct training, and address various other factors."
Emphasizing the wider significance of national defense, General Řehka stated, "I am confident that we possess all the necessary elements to ensure safety and uphold peace in Europe. However, this demands that we remain strong, resolute, and ready to invest in our own defense and security. Ultimately, it comes down to our determination, as we have all the resources we need—both as Europe and as the Czech Republic, which is an integral part of it."
The event in Prague highlighted the Czech Army's dedication to enhancing its capabilities and connecting with the public to safeguard national security in a changing geopolitical environment.
