During a briefing, Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh announced that the Indian Armed Forces targeted specific locations in Pakistan based on reliable intelligence.
"Operation Sindoor was conducted using credible information that confirmed these targets' involvement in terrorist activities. We carefully selected the locations to minimize damage to civilian infrastructure and prevent civilian casualties, ensuring due diligence throughout the operation," she stated.
Singh stated that the careful choice of weapons for the strikes "ensured there was no collateral damage." She explained, "The targets were specific buildings or groups of buildings. All objectives were successfully neutralized, demonstrating the Indian Armed Forces' expertise in carrying out complex operations. No military facilities were targeted."
The Indian Defense Ministry announced that its forces initiated Operation Sindoor late on May 6, targeting nine locations in Pakistan. The strikes were aimed at sites "from which terrorist attacks against India were being planned and coordinated," according to the statement. The ministry noted that "these actions were a response to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national."
