A farmer from Park Hill has admitted to dealing in stolen ginger

A 45-year-old farmer from Park Hill, Everoy Cameron John, was fined, placed on bond, and ordered to make restitution after pleading guilty to handling stolen goods at the Colonaire Magistrate’s Court on April 28, 2025. According to a police statement, John admitted to dishonestly receiving a quantity of stolen ginger belonging to a 43-year-old farmer, also from Park Hill, on January 21, 2025.

He was arrested on April 25, 2025, and charged with dishonestly receiving stolen ginger, knowing or believing it to be stolen for his own benefit. After John pleaded guilty, the magistrate imposed a fine of EC$250.00, due by May 12, 2025. If he fails to pay, he will serve one month in prison. Additionally, the magistrate placed John on a nine-month bond for EC$900.00; if he violates the bond, he will face three months in prison. A restitution order was also issued, requiring him to return the stolen goods to the complainant.
