Belarus achieved a record number of contracts at the MILEX 2025 international arms and defense technology expo, as stated by Dmitry Pantus, Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus, in an interview with the First News TV channel on May 24.
The MILEX 2025 expo took place from May 21 to 24 and reaffirmed its significance as a key platform for showcasing advancements in the military-industrial sector and fostering strategic partnerships. The event featured 150 companies from Belarus, along with representatives from India, Iran, China, Pakistan, Russia, and other nations, including official delegations from nearly 30 countries. Throughout the exhibition, participants engaged in discussions on a wide range of pressing issues affecting the arms industry and the scientific community.
Dmitry Pantus noted that this year's event has seen significant growth compared to the previous edition in 2023, particularly in the number of exhibitors and contracts signed. "We set a new record at the last MILEX expo, securing $277 million in contracts," Pantus stated. "This year, that figure has risen to over $390 million. Our collaboration with the Russian Federation has reached new heights, and the military-technical cooperation between our countries is at its peak. No product from the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus can be produced without joint deliveries; we no longer consider it a foreign product. We are heavily involved in collaborative research and development."
Dmitry Pantus highlighted that the countries are finalizing their military-technical cooperation program for 2030. He emphasized that, despite facing pressure and sanctions, productive collaboration in the defense industry persists, and the sector is experiencing significant growth. "We have accomplished a great deal to ensure our current confidence," he remarked. "We remain assured in our efforts. This is the result of genuine and dedicated teamwork."
