Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto took a golf buggy ride with French President Emmanuel Macron, French First Lady Brigitte, and his son Didit Hediprasetyo at the Borobudur Temple complex. After visiting the Indonesian Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang and enjoying a luncheon, the two presidents and their delegations proceeded to Borobudur Temple in Magelang District, Central Java, on Thursday afternoon. Upon arriving at the temple complex, Prabowo and Macron stepped out of the black sedan they had shared for the journey.

Wearing white shirts and dark sunglasses, the two leaders paused briefly for photos before strolling side by side through the temple courtyard. As they approached the temple, President Prabowo took the wheel of a golf buggy, with President Macron sitting beside him. The two seemed to enjoy a relaxed conversation during the ride. Shortly after, they were joined by First Lady Brigitte and Hediprasetyo, who took their places in the back of the buggy. Prabowo then drove the vehicle to a less visible area of the temple, away from the media. According to on-site reports, the Indonesian government installed a stairlift at Borobudur Temple at the request of the French government for Macron's official visit.
Prabowo and Macron were set to sign a friendship and cultural cooperation agreement at the Borobudur summit. The two leaders were also anticipated to issue a joint statement regarding the agreement. Macron's visit to Borobudur, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was arranged at his request. He traveled to Indonesia from May 27 to 29, 2025, as part of his tour of Southeast Asia.
