During a donation ceremony on May 29 at the Bayintnaung Residence in Naypyidaw, junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, who is also the chairman of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and head of the Military Council, announced that the preliminary damage assessment for the 10 affected regions and states amounts to 3,804.549 billion kyats.
The earthquake impacted 374 wards, 944 village tracts, and 2,081 villages, displacing 162,167 households and affecting a total of 506,069 individuals. The Military Council reported that 3,739 people lost their lives, 68 are still unaccounted for, and 5,104 sustained injuries.
The reported damage includes 51,210 homes, 431 roadworks, 103 bridges, 83 railway damage sites, 11 railway bridges, 6,730 mobile communication stations, 10 power lines, 3,435 power poles, 594 irrigation canals, 6 embankments, 11,338 departmental buildings, 384 hospitals, 364 clinics, 166 historical buildings and museums, 2,409 basic education schools, 72 higher education institutions, 90 private schools, 6,469 pagodas, 5,588 monasteries, nunneries, and other religious structures, 344 private factories, 78.5 acres of crops, and 133,700 livestock.

In terms of material support, a shipment of fuel from China—comprising 11,930.505 tons of diesel and 2,940.055 tons of petrol—arrived at Thilawa Port on March 23. The junta’s Ministry of Energy reported that it has stored and utilized over 49,000 tons of fuel for rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
India has donated 225 tons of cement, equivalent to 4,500 bags, which the Indian Ambassador presented to the Chief Minister of the Yangon Region on May 25. This cement will be used for rebuilding infrastructure in the affected areas, according to state media reports.
Additionally, China has contributed 500 prefabricated office units, with 340 units arriving on May 2 and the remaining 160 on May 24. These units are currently serving as temporary administrative offices in regions impacted by the earthquake. Furthermore, all 4,500 prefabricated houses promised by China have now reached Thilawa Port, with deliveries of 1,576 on May 9, 1,804 on May 13, and 1,120 on May 24. These houses are being utilized for emergency shelter.
Junta officials have announced that they are keeping a detailed inventory of the aid distributed between May 20 and May 27, and they will continue to provide weekly updates on the distribution process.
