The administration of President Donald Trump is prepared to offer a $1,000 reward to undocumented immigrants who choose to leave the country voluntarily. This information comes from a statement issued by the US Department of Homeland Security.
"The department is providing a reward for individuals who return to their home country using the CBP Home mobile application. Each undocumented immigrant who utilizes this app will receive a $1,000 reward upon verification of their return," the statement noted.
The Associated Press reports that the Trump administration has significantly revised the immigration application originally created under former President Joseph Biden as part of its efforts to tighten immigration policy.
In recent months, the US President has implemented a range of stringent measures to address illegal immigration. Notably, he has endorsed initiatives aimed at increasing the deportation of undocumented immigrants from the country. Shortly after taking office, Trump declared a state of emergency at the border with Mexico.
