The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has declared that the attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, such as Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, constitute a breach of international law. Despite this, Iran's nuclear industry will persist in its development.
The Iranian Embassy in India released a statement from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) confirming that early Sunday morning, Iran's nuclear facilities were subjected to "savage aggression," which it described as a violation of international law, particularly the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The statement further lamented that this act, which contravenes international regulations, occurred amid the indifference—and even complicity—of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The statement indicated that "the American adversary, via virtual channels and the pronouncement of its president, has claimed responsibility for the attacks on the specified sites, which are continuously monitored by the IAEA in line with the Safeguards Agreement and the NPT." Iran's Atomic Energy Organization expressed its hope that the international community would denounce these actions and support Iran in defending its rights.
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran reassures the Iranian people that, despite the harmful schemes of its adversaries, it will not allow the progress of this vital national industry—founded on the sacrifices of nuclear martyrs—to be impeded. With the commitment of thousands of dedicated scientists and experts, the organization is taking necessary measures to protect the rights of the honorable Iranian populace, including pursuing legal actions, the statement concluded.
In the meantime, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that there have been no indications of increased off-site radiation levels following the recent US strikes. "After attacks on three nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordow, the IAEA can confirm that no rise in off-site radiation levels has been detected at this time," the agency stated in a social media update. "The IAEA will provide further assessments regarding the situation in Iran as more information becomes available," it added.
