"Jurassic World: Rebirth," directed by Gareth Edwards, follows a team of specialists on an expedition to a forbidden island that houses the original Jurassic Park's research facility.
In London, Scarlett Johansson reflected on her role in "Jurassic World: Rebirth," recalling her earliest memories of the iconic dinosaur film franchise. She remembered watching the original "Jurassic Park" in theaters at the age of 10.
"It left a lasting impression on me," she shared with Reuters during the London premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square. "For the next thirty years, I would have done anything to be part of a Jurassic movie in any way."
The franchise, originally created by author Michael Crichton, has led to multiple films, merchandise, and video games.
"Jurassic World: Rebirth," directed by Gareth Edwards, follows a team of specialists on an expedition to a forbidden island that houses a research facility from the original Jurassic Park. Among the specialists are Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, known for his role in Bridgerton, who are tasked with obtaining DNA samples from three dinosaurs to facilitate a life-saving medical breakthrough. The film, produced by Universal Pictures, is set to hit theaters on July 2.
Rupert Friend, who also portrays one of the specialists, finds this installment of the franchise thrilling. "I love adventure. I enjoy being taken on a ride where the outcome is uncertain. I embrace the unknown and the element of risk," he shared.
For the acclaimed science fiction director Edwards, the pressure for the film's success didn't fully register until he attended the premiere. "It's all very present here. To be honest, it feels a bit strange. I can't quite wrap my head around it," he remarked, reflecting on his experience as the director of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."
