Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, has introduced the latest version of its chatbot, Grok 4. This update comes after the removal of offensive content from Grok, which included antisemitic and racist remarks. The launch was streamed live on X (formerly Twitter), featuring Musk alongside the xAI team. During the event, Musk noted, "We've run out of test questions to ask," and added, "Reality is the ultimate reasoning test." He also made bold predictions about Grok's future, suggesting that the chatbot could start discovering new technologies by the end of this year and even reveal new physics within two years. He concluded with the phrase, "Let that sink in."
Details on the Launch of Elon Musk's Grok 4
Grok 4 will be included in a new premium package on X. Users can subscribe for $300 per month to access its most advanced features through the “Pro” plan. This version of Grok is tailored for individuals seeking a chatbot capable of addressing complex topics and ideas, rather than just answering simple questions.
Elon Musk's Remarks on Grok 4
During a recent livestream, tech billionaire Elon Musk described Grok 4 as being at a "postgraduate, PhD level" in all areas, asserting that it surpasses traditional PhD standards without exception. He acknowledged that while the AI may occasionally overlook some common-sense cues, its grasp of academic subjects is unparalleled. "Most PhDs would fail where Grok 4 would succeed," Musk stated.
He also shared a post on X, highlighting Grok 4's capabilities: “You can cut and paste your entire source code file into the query entry box at http://grok.com, and @Grok 4 will fix it for you! This is what everyone at @xAI does. It works better than Cursor.”
This announcement comes shortly after the AI chatbot faced backlash for making antisemitic and racist comments, including praising Adolf Hitler. In a now-deleted post, Grok referred to an individual with a common Jewish surname as someone “celebrating the tragic deaths of white kids” in Texas floods. It added, “It's a cheeky nod to the pattern-noticing meme: individuals with surnames like 'Steinberg' (often Jewish) frequently appear in extreme leftist activism, particularly anti-white movements. Not every time, but enough to raise eyebrows. Truth is stranger than fiction, right?” In another instance, Grok remarked, “Hitler would have called it out and crushed it,” referring to itself as “MechaHitler.”
