On Monday, Porsche Centre Oman (PCO) announced a two-year partnership with the Oman Automobile Association (OAA) to sponsor the National Karting Championship Series. This initiative, known as the Porsche Centre Oman Karting Championship Series, aims to significantly advance the development of motorsport in the Sultanate of Oman.
By collaborating with the OAA, the governing body for motorsport in Oman, Porsche Centre Oman is committed to nurturing grassroots motorsport and fostering future talent in the region. The partnership will span the next two seasons of the championship, providing essential support for karting and motorsport initiatives in Oman.
“We are proud to sponsor a project that aligns with our legacy of motorsport excellence,” stated Mohamed A.R. Qassim, Director of Porsche Centre Oman.
The championship series will feature classes designed for both race license holders and recreational karting enthusiasts. Porsche Centre Oman will offer comprehensive branding, racing suits, and financial backing for licensed drivers, along with cash prizes for podium finishers.

"Supporting the next generation of drivers is central to Porsche Centre Oman’s vision for the region, and this partnership underscores our dedication to youth development and motorsport innovation in the Sultanate," stated Mohamed.
The upcoming season will feature a 24-hour endurance race, along with several other events at the Muscat Speedway, kicking off with the first round of races in September.
“This new championship series for licensed racers in Rotax Max and leisure karts signifies a new era for karting in Oman,” remarked Suleiman Al Rawahi, Managing Director of the Oman Automobile Association. “Collaborating with Porsche Centre Oman enables us to enhance the competitive landscape and create new opportunities for aspiring drivers nationwide.”
The partnership, which will extend through the third quarter of 2027, includes financial prizes and equipment such as branded race suits from Porsche Centre Oman. Additionally, a new Instagram channel will be launched to promote the upcoming series.
Supporting youth sports and fostering community engagement has always been a fundamental aspect of Porsche Centre Oman’s philosophy. The chance to contribute to the growing motorsport industry and empower future generations of Omani race drivers from the grassroots level made the collaboration with the Oman Automobile Association a natural fit.
Porsche has a rich history of supporting motor racing in the Middle East, with the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East serving as the pinnacle, showcasing 15 seasons of competition across the Gulf. This series provides the ultimate inspiration for future Omani stars, who can now begin their journey up the professional motor racing ladder through leisure karts and the Rotax Max Challenge as part of the Porsche Centre Oman Karting Championship Series.
