Somalia and Malaysia have signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at collaborating in digital governance, technical cooperation, and strengthening cyber security. The first agreement, as reported by the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), emphasizes cooperation on regulatory and technical frameworks for 5G technology. It also includes the sharing of communications management policies, training programs, and expertise to bolster institutional capacities.
The second agreement focuses on strengthening collaboration in cyber security. This includes measures for preventing and responding to cyber attacks, sharing information about threats and trends in technological security, working together in cyber diplomacy, and engaging in international efforts.
