Bahrain is set to take part in the inaugural Asian Camel Racing Championship, organized by the Asian Camel Racing Federation, tomorrow, Thursday, at the Al Wathba Racecourse in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This championship will feature a diverse array of Asian national teams, reflecting Bahrain's commitment to promoting traditional sports and enhancing its presence in regional events.
Bahrain Camel Racing is represented by an official delegation that includes team manager Mr. Khalifa Mohammed Al Ameri and his deputy, Mr. Mohammed Amer Al Maamari. The delegation also features nine race participants: Amina Khalaf Al Ruwaie, Hamdan Mohammed Al Maamari, Faisal Salem Al Maamari, Nayef Salem Al Maamari, Rashid Falah Al Masaeed, and Faris Al Sadiq Abdul Rahman.

Bahrain's renewed involvement in regional and Arab camel racing championships is evident through its participation in upcoming events. The Bahraini national team will compete in three key categories as part of the Asian Federation's approved racing schedule. The first round will feature a 2-kilometer race for men in the "Zamoul" and "Thanaia" categories. The second round, also covering a distance of 2 kilometers, will focus on the "Hail" and "Thanaia" categories. Additionally, the team will take part in the third round, which is designated for women and spans 2 kilometers, including the "Al-Hail," "Al-Thanaia," "Al-Zamoul," and "Al-Thanaia Zamoul" categories. On Friday, the Bahraini national team will compete in the sixth round of the heritage race during the annual UAE Festival for Purebred Arabian Camel Racing at Al Wathba Racecourse.
During the championship, Bahrain will take part in the General Assembly meeting of the Asian Camel Racing Federation, scheduled for Thursday in Abu Dhabi. This meeting will include the election of a new president for the federation's executive office, along with two vice presidents and four additional members. Bahrain will be represented by Mr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Fadhel Al Marri, Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Committee for Popular Heritage Sports, and Mr. Tariq Juma Salem, the committee's CEO. This participation underscores Bahrain's dedication to advancing camel sports and enhancing collaboration among national federations throughout Asia.
