Amman Golf Club proudly wrapped up the inaugural Diplomatic Golf Cup on Saturday, May 31, 2025. The tournament attracted participation from more than 20 embassies, featuring several ambassadors and a notable group of diplomats from various foreign missions in Jordan. Their involvement added an international dimension to the event and promoted a strong sense of sportsmanship. Additionally, the presence of several high-ranking foreign ambassadors underscored the tournament's diplomatic importance, emphasizing the crucial role of sports in enhancing international relations and cultural exchange.
The competition showcased exceptional performances from all participants and culminated in an official award ceremony that recognized the top three winners, attended by distinguished diplomatic and social figures. The winners of the tournament were:
• 1st Place: Jenny Anderson from the Australian Embassy
• 2nd Place: Stevie Green from the Irish Embassy
• 3rd Place: Thibaut Moyer from the European Union Delegation
This special event was hosted by the newly opened Amman Golf Club, which is the first grass golf course in Amman, representing a significant milestone for the sport in Jordan. Designed by the acclaimed Dutch golf architect Michiel van der Vaart, the course combines international standards with the stunning natural beauty of the Jordanian landscape, providing a world-class golfing experience in the heart of Amman.
On this occasion, Ms. Majd Al-Najada, General Manager of Amman Golf Club, expressed her pride and appreciation for the tournament's remarkable success. She stated, "We are honored and thrilled to have organized this prestigious sporting event, which brought together a distinguished group of diplomats residing in Jordan on our beautiful courses. The ‘First Diplomatic Golf Cup’ provided a fantastic opportunity to strengthen relationships among diplomatic representatives and to highlight Jordan as an ideal destination for sports and tourism events." Ms. Al-Najada also extended her heartfelt thanks to all participating diplomats for their sportsmanship and dedication, noting that they were the key to the day's success. She further expressed her sincere gratitude to the esteemed partners who supported and made this event possible.
